DIET AND ENDOMETRIOSIS

Suffering from medical conditions can make living life to the fullest difficult. The question is, what can be done to ease the medical condition that you are suffering from? Did you know that diet and endometriosis are closely linked?

If you are suffering from endometriosis, it might be time to take a look at what you putting into your body.

Endometriosis is an extremely painful medical condition that affects women. Endometriosis is a condition that causes the cells from the lining of the uterus to grow and flourish on the outside of the uterine cavity. Women who suffer from endometriosis are in constant pain and can often become infertile. There is no cure for endometriosis and it has to be monitored with pain medication, hormonal treatments and, in very bad circumstances, surgery. In this day and age, it is common for people to live a healthy and natural lifestyle that is not filled with harmful chemicals. In the case of endometriosis, it is possible to treat it in a holistic manner.

It is believed like with most other medical conditions, endometriosis and diet are closely linked. If this is true, you may be able to ease the pain being caused by this condition by changing certain foods that you eat. Unfortunately, as there is no cure for endometriosis, a change in diet can only assist with the pain management and decrease the symptoms. It is also likely that certain foods in your diet could be aggravating the endometriosis. Endometriosis and your diet can work in harmony together if you begin to eliminate and avoid the following food items:

  • Meat. Red meat unfortunately increases the production of prostaglandins in the body – which are responsible for sending pain messages to the brain. This will make the cramps that you are already experiencing much worse. Red meat can also create acid, which will inflame the cells and increase the pain.
  • Dairy. Dairy, like red meat, is known to increase the inflammation in your body. It can also be difficult to digest, which could increase general discomfort.
  • Wheat. Wheat in general is not a good food for women to eat. Wheat will increase the natural candida that women have in their bodies and will cause irritation, such as thrush. As such, it will also aggravate the endometriosis.
  • Sugar and caffeine. These two food items need to be monitored carefully. Caffeine increases your estrogen level which, in turn, will worsen the symptoms. Sugar, on the other hand, is also associated with the increase of candida.

When it comes to your diet, you need to be realistic about your lifestyle. In the case of endometriosis and your diet, it is best to remove those aforementioned items completely. Remember though, before taking on any new diet, you need to consult with a professional doctor.
